If I were going to be a content marketer I'd utilize white papers, blogs, podcasts and public speaking engagements or seminars to help establish my authority. I'd utilize those in my network who could assist with this, and through each channel I'd expand that network. I'd look to social media to find influencers with similar values and messaging and I'd follow and comment on their posts. If I were brave enough, I might even follow someone diametrically opposed to my values and beliefs and comment on their posts, to create a bit of tension that might bring me more work and raise the profile of my own messaging and my own values/beliefs. But I'd be professional and reasoned in this, not mud-slinging.
